FAQ

All registration is done online through the family portal. To register you will first need to create a family profile and add your athlete’s details. See the video below for a step by step guide.

The Gymnastics Ontario Insurance Fee covers Gymnastics Ontario (our governing body) registration and member insurance, and cannot be discounted or refunded. This fee is mandatory for all athletes enrolled in programs at Kitchener-Waterloo Gymnastics Club.

This annual fee is applicable for 1 session year (e.g. June 2024 – May 2025). It is not auto-renewed but will be added to your account should you enroll after the June renewal period.

Payment will be processed by our office team 12-24 hours (48 if the office is closed) after registration. We require payment to be taken by either the Visa, Mastercard, and Visa-Debit card on file or by cash (exact change required) at our front office.

Payment is due at the time of registration. You will receive an electronic account statement once you are fully registered in the class.

If a credit card payment is declined, an email is automatically sent to inform the credit card holder, and you have 24 hours to contact the office with updated information or an alternative method of payment before the athlete is removed from the class. Payment information can also be updated through the parent portal.

Kitchener-Waterloo Gymnastics Club offers recreational and competitive gymnastics programs for ages 10 months and up.

The majority of recreational classes are once weekly and run for 3-4 month sessions. All of our recreational classes are available to view on our Classes page and schedules can be filtered for our recreational classes here.

Our Competitive programs (MAG and WAG) are available to athletes from 4+ years old for girls and 6+ for boys. More details for these programs can be found on our WAG and MAG program pages and enrollment is by invitation only.

Summer Camp, March Break Camp and PD Day camps through the school year.

Camps are available for athletes aged 5-12 years old. There are opportunities at many of our camps for either half-day or full day enrollment and we are also able to offer extended care for those that require early drop-off and late pick-up.

We also offer adaptive camp for children with physical, cognitive, social and developmental needs. A discussion with our adaptive team will be required prior to enrollment in these camps.

Click here to see our current list of camps.

The majority of our recreational classes are dependent on age and level, with some classes having a prerequisite level requirement. Watch the video below explain what are classes and levels mean and what your athlete should register for.

If a class says that it is waitlisted then you cannot register for it as it has been filled. Due to the instructor to student ratio for each class that cannot be exceeded, there are no exceptions to this.

It does happen that athletes leave their classes, opening up a placement, and so athletes on the waitlist are then given the opportunity to register for that class. If you are contacted to say that a spot has opened then you will have 24 hours to confirm that spot before it passes to the next athlete on the waitlist. Should a space open after classes have started then your fee will be prorated to reflect this.

We cannot say how likely it is that a space will open up because someone who is currently registered in the class will need to drop the program for a space to become available. We recommend joining as many waitlists as possible for your best chance at getting a space.

Your athletes skills and levels are available through your family portal. Watch the video below for a step by step guide.

Please note most coaches will not update skills weekly, but instead will update in batches closer to the end of the session.

Athletes should wear athletic clothing they can move in and will be comfortable wearing in the warm gym environment.

Bare feet are required in the gym. If your athlete is uncomfortable with bare feet they must have socks with sticky grips on the bottom to ensure they don’t slip.

We do not offer trial classes. Registration is done on a per-session basis or a monthly basis for our pass programs.

We have an upstairs viewing area for parents as well as an accessible viewing space on the main floor. To get to the parent viewing area please head down the main hall to the gym, then take the fourth doorway on your right. This will take you to a small hallway with a stairwell leading up to the viewing space.

Our next recreational session registration period is at 12 pm on:

November 13th (November 11th for members)

Our next March Break and Summer Camp registration date is on January 20th at 12pm.
